Windoze 7 Notes

Language butchery by Mr Rich on  2.9.09 @ 09:03

These are some notes that I'm taking for Windows 7. They really are for myself - but if you'd like to comment feel free

Partition
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I wonder what other OS's would put a small "system files" partition at the beginning of a disc.... To paraphrase the Church Lady, "...could it be, UNIX?!?"

startup0
startup
simple startup screens are nice. I still wish they'd steal the startup screens from Linux tho. It's nice to see a list of what is starting up

Desktop1
ShowDesktop-MinimizeAll
The desktop is very KDE-esque. Imitation truly is the greatest form of flattery.

controlPanel0
controlPanel1
The Control Panel is very deceiving. Change to "Small Icons" to make it usable

ODBC
ODBC is the same...

services
Services.msc is the same...

StartMenuCustomize-ShowRun
You'll want to customize the start menu to add "run" (why do they hide this stuff?!?)

Explorer
Explorer is very Vista like.

file-folderProps0
file-folderProps1
file-folderProps2
file-folderProps3
file-folderProps4
File properties has been enhanced a bit.
